What is the Dynacast Machine Building Center?

Dynacast’s Machine Building Center (DMB), strategically located in Germany, boasts an engineering team and facilities equipped to engineer some of the world’s most precise die casting machines. Our global network of 21 facilities relies on the DMB to provide the specialized machinery essential to fulfilling our diverse customer demands.

This innovative hub welcomes ideas from Dynacast facilities worldwide. A prime example is the collaboration with Dynacast Singapore, which sought additional magnesium machines. In response, DMB successfully upgraded an existing A3 machine to accommodate magnesium materials, expanding our production capabilities.

To effectively meet the diverse needs of our 21 facilities, DMB employs two dedicated teams: one focused on mechanical design and the other on electronic control systems hardware and software. These specialists collaborate closely to accelerate development through a dual-track approach, incorporating multiple validation points to ensure optimal machine performance.

Following design approval and machine construction, rigorous testing commences. Our commitment to quality involves evaluating new developments under real-world conditions, both at DMB and our German casting production facility. This thorough process guarantees the delivery of superior machines to our global operations.

Machine Developments

The A2 thruster machine, an enhanced version of the original A2, boasts an increased locking force of six tons compared to the previous 3.5 tons. Our A3 SIS also features a higher locking force and incorporates the groundbreaking servo hydraulic injection system (SIS). This innovative technology has been successfully integrated into all our hydraulic machines since its inception.

The Dynacast Machine Building Center has developed the A210 SIS, a machine that combines a ten-ton locking force with the speed of a smaller A2 model. Additionally, the A206E, based on the A2 Thruster, features an electromechanical injection system, making it our smallest machine with real-time controlled injection.

A significant milestone is the A3 Al SIS, Dynacast's first hot chamber aluminum die casting machine successfully operating in series production. This achievement sets us apart in the industry.
Our new Dynacast PC9 controller, an industrial PC with a 19” touchscreen, utilizes the latest Siemens hardware and software. This advanced technology accelerates SIS program processing and simplifies future upgrades as technology evolves.

Currently, Dynacast is focused on the A340 project, an evolution of the A3 SIS equipped with servo-hydraulic axes and a maximum clamping force of 40 tons. This versatile design accommodates zinc, aluminum, or magnesium 4-slide machines. The first A340 Zn is already in series production, with the A340 Al (hot chamber aluminum machine) scheduled for production by the end of 2024.
